The North Spencer Christian Academy Board of Education governs NSCA and consists of the pastor of North Spencer Baptist Church, members of the church, members from supporting area churches, and the School Administrator, who is an ex officio member.
Mrs. Marcy Cody – Administrator
Mrs. Marcy Cody taught first grade here in 1994/95. A family move relocated them to OH. She returned to NSCA in 2008 as an Elementary teacher. Her specialty is Elementary Education. Biography: I am a graduate of NSCA who went on to Cedarville University. I graduated Cedarville with BA in Elementary Education. I have been at NSCA more than ten years now, teaching a variety of grades, such as PreK, 2, 3, 4, and 6th grade, and am now serving as the head of school.
Mrs. Maryalice Hunt – Preschool
Mrs. Maryalice Hunt is active at the Candor Congregational Church where she has led the Mothers Of Pre Schoolers (MOPS) program for a number of years. Mrs. Hunt graduated from Houghton and has taught at Twin Tiers Christian Academy. In addition to experience in early education, she has expertise in English.
Miss. Jana Kraybill – 1st Grade + Specials Teacher
Miss Jana Kraybill attended Corning Community College before transferring to Davis College where she received her 4-year degree in biblical studies with a concentration in English as a Second Language. Miss Kraybill has experience teaching a variety of grade levels and is currently responsible for P.E., music, Art, Library, Biology and Earth Science. I am grateful for the support of the staff here at NSCA and the many teaching opportunities I have been allowed to experience. I look forward to all God has in store for me in the future here at NSCA.
Mrs. Jeanettee Weaver – 2nd + 3rd Grade
Mrs. Jeanettee Weaver began teaching first grade at Seffner Christian Academy in Seffner, FL in 1995. In 1997, she accepted a position in a third grade classroom at Faith Christian School in Margate, FL. Due to a military transfer, Mrs. Weaver accepted a position teaching third grade at Heritage Christian School in Cleveland, OH in 1998. She became a stay at home mother, until she accepted a first, second, and third grade teaching position at Valley Christian Academy in Athens, PA in 2006. In 2008, she assisted in founding a home school co op at her church in East Smithfield, PA. In August, 2019, Mrs. Weaver was offered a position teaching second and third grade at NSCA. Biography: I graduated from Clearwater Christian College, Clearwater, FL with a BS in Elementary Education and a minor in Bible. I am an active member of Calvary Baptist Church in Athens, PA where I teach and assist in the younger children’s programs. My husband of thirty years and I reside in East Smithfield, PA.
Miss. Ashley Jenkins – 4th + 5th Grade
Being raised in North Carolina, I attended Liberty Christian School from kindergarten to senior year. I graduated in 2015 from Hyles-Anderson College with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. I relocated to the area in May of 2017. It took me a few years to get into my career. I have worked as a teaching assistant for several years and joined the NSCA team in September 2021.
Mr. Dave Crance – Middle School Teacher
I was born and grew up in Spencer New York. I have a BS. degree in Early Childhood from Elmira collage. I also have an AAS. degree in Fire Technology from TC3. When I worked at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tioga County, I did the Richford summer school teaching about how to use the food guide pyramid and food safety. I have been an active member of the Spencer Fire Department for 40 years. I have been an assistant chief, water supply officer, chaplain, and trustee for the last 7 years. I feel that the Lord want me to help people and I like working with students. That is why I like to teach at North Spencer Christian Academy.
Miss. Christina Brock – Middle School Teacher
After being homeschooled through elementary and high school, I graduated from Davis College in 2014, with a BRE in International Ministries. I still hope to serve God overseas someday, but for now, the school system is cross-cultural enough for me, as a former homeschool student and a first-time teacher. I started at NSCA this year, and I had no idea I could love a job this much!
Mrs. Wendee Peake – Instrumental Music Teacher
Mrs. Wendee Buchman Peake has served at NSCA for almost twenty years. She is the Instrumental Music teacher. She specializes in worship teams, concert, jazz and marching bands. I hold a degree in music with a performance certificate in percussion from the Crane School of Music, SUNY Potsdam, and participated in the 1980 Winter Olympics Orchestra. I hold a Masters degree from Ithaca College. I am a worship leader and songwriter and have recorded several CDs. I am the owner of Purple Sheep Music Studio and the Director of Purple Lightning, a Christian marching band.
